SPECIAL SITUATIONS
Morris Architects has worked with a number of clients on projects that
don't seem to fit in a neat category for an architectural firm.
Some of these are architectural in nature and some are clearly
design-related. However some seem on the surface to be unusual for a
design firm to be engaged in.
The former include projects illustrated on these pages such as the Wing
Fook Chinese Funeral Home, the wallcoverings and fabrics created to be
visually interesting to people with reduced color perception, the Dog
Chapel (in process) for a Vermont artist and dinnerware for an office
building cafeteria.
The latter includes consulting work for outsourcing recycling of office
and manufacturing by-products for a large manufacturer, outsourcing
custom battery manufacturing for a high-tech firm, developing a
demographic database for a multi-discipline consulting firm, economic
development consulting for businesses and municipalities, and developing
strategic marketing programs for small and growing businesses.
The connecting link between all of these is the problem-solving process
that is central to design thinking.
